Amazon Rainforest Plants

The Amazon rainforest is home to a diversity of medicinal plants.

There are many beautiful plants that grow and give life in the Amazon. Most of the plants grow in trees to get a lot of sunlight. Most of these are Orchids, Bromeliads, moss, roots, and wooden vines. Even though there are some plants growing in trees many also grow in the understory and some that grow in the water.

The ones that live in the trees also live in the ground too. Many plants don't need that much sunlight to live in the understory. There are more plants that live in the understory than live in the treetops. The ones that live in the water are the Rafflesia flower and the water lily. There are also other plants that live near the water, but don't live in the water. They are part of the understory.

There are many plants that attract animals and insects. These animals pick off pollen from these plants to eat and collect. If you go to the Amazon you will find all kinds of wondrous plants that live there and different animals that feed on the plant.
