PhD research
My PhD research focused on the influences of social relationships on children’s development during early adolescence. This included the influence of parents (e.g. parenting behaviours and parental mental health) and friends in children’s psychological and educational functioning. I used data from a large longitudinal study of the transition from primary to secondary school which I collected with my colleagues on the STARS team from 2012 to 2013.
