The Tokushima Budo Council was founded to follow the paths taught by Abbe Kenshiro Docho, 8th Dan who was the
founder of the style of Kyushindo. Translated this means: kyu - to desire or year for / shin - heart, spirit in the sense of true inner nature / do - way or path = kyushindo - the way of desiring to reach the fundamental truth in things.
The aim of the council is to improve on the theory of Abbe Sensei and to teach the martial arts to any person throughout the world who whished to learn, so that people everywhere can live in harmony and peace, the ultimate aim of kyushindo. The founder and president is Alfred Bates (Kancho) 10th Dan Hanshi, Chairman is Leighton Jenkins 9th Dan hanshi and there is an executive committee made up of high ranking instructors of each discipline
Hanshi R.Wayne Taylor Kudan, assisted Kancho Bates, Hanshi Leighton Jenkins, Hanshi Tudor Box , with the formation of the Council in the early 1980s and held the position of Director for Karate. was also on the Executive Committee, and Technical committee.
Was awarded the Kyushin Belt direct from Kancho Bates.
Awarded the Rank of Hachi (8th) Dan and Professional Title of Hanshi,at Tenby Budo Festival. in April 2004 only a few people have received this honour from Kancho Bates. Hanshi Tudor Box, was also awarded his 8th Dan and Professional title of Hanshi at the same time. Hanshi Jenkin's, Hanshi Box, and Hanshi Taylor, are the only one's to be graded to this high level by Kancho Bates.
Hanshi Taylor was given a life membership also from Kancho Bates of The Tokushima Budo Council.
Hanshi Taylor: Was presented with a katana, for his services to the TBC and for being Considerate.
