Experiences

Here are some of our experiences in the various competitions. I wanted to share my experiences first and then give you a brief advice on what to do and what not to.

I will tell you some of the tough moments we faced during the competitions .

IIT B

• • It was the first competition.

  • We were totally illiterate about RC cars until we met Mr.Murarie Kumar.

  • We then started to know everything about RC cars from him .

  • We had too much of troubles at the beginning as we could not get a proper fabricator or a proper material .

  • We travel for hours in search of the necessary materials and spares we require.

  • We had just two months to start from scratch.

  • Even the fabricators who promised us to complete our design in a week delayed by more than a month.

  • But some how we managed to complete the machine on time and we were short listed for the competition.

  • During the competition, we had as many troubles that one could imagine!!!

  • Every time a trouble arises we will call Mr.Murarie and get his suggestions as we dint want to risk by taking a chance and lose all the hope and money.

  • Our engine dint even start for the first two days !!!We were hopeless about it

  • We tried every possible ways to start the engine.

  • Those moments were really horrible and frustrating.

  • We could not judge what the problem was and cannot troubleshoot.

  • Finally Ragunathaprabhu found out that the engine was ceased and he lubricated the engine by removing the glow plug and cranked the engine till it had a smooth transition. (He is an expert in engines I shud say)

  • We somehow got the engine ready but the battery pack was short circuited :(

  • The whole wire wansn't burnt. So it was not as bad as our engines.

  • After this came the tuning problem.

  • As we rev up the engine , it will die.

  • We had two sleepless nights and now one more added to it !!!

  • I met Sudarsh Sharma that day. He was also a participant and we came to know each other through the forums of Techfest. (See how its goin to help us out)

  • He was very very helpful and he brought back the life to the engine and also in us.

  • The best thing about the Techfest is there will be a mutual exchange of knowledge and people will help each other.

  • The engine was perfect then.
