The MA Educator Evaluation Rubric is a complex, detailed document that reflects current research with regard to learning and teaching well. Today's element, IIA3-Meeting Diverse Needs, points to the needs for thoughtful, collegial learning design and knowing your students well.First, educators need to make the time necessary to know their students well. Knowing student's learning profile, needs, interests, and passions will help educators determine optimal learning choices, strategies, and goals. Also, in order to build a diverse repertoire for meeting students' learning needs, educators should engage in targeted professional learning activities as well as planning and share with the learning community: students, family members, educators, leaders, and the community. One teacher is not able to figure out all the ways to teach well, hence collaboration with others will serve to build an educator's dynamic, diverse teaching/learning repertoire.
Standard II: Teaching All Students. The teacher promotes the learning and growth of all students through instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective classroom environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency.
Indicator II-A. Instruction: Uses instructional practices that reflect high expectations regarding content and quality of effort and work; engage all students; and are personalized to accommodate diverse learning styles, needs, interests, and levels of
readiness.
