The International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics (ICEG) is the premier quadrennial conference organized under the auspices of the ISSMGE Technical Committee 215 on Environmental Geotechnics (TC 215).
The first International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics was held in 1994 in Edmonton, Canada.
After the first edition, the Congress moved to various locations around the globe: Osaka in 1996, Lisbon in 1998, Rio de Janeiro in 2002, Cardiff in 2006, New Delhi in 2010, Melbourne in 2014, Hangzhou in 2018, and Chania in 2023.
The 10th edition of the Congress will be held in Kyoto, Japan, from 1 to 4 November 2027.
The Congress will be chaired by Takeshi Katsumi and organized under the auspices of TC 215 and the Japanese Geotechnical Society.
The Congress will be held at the International Convention Center in Kyoto, the site where the Kyoto Protocol on climate change was signed, and it promises to be an unmissable event that will bring together both research and practice, addressing the future challenges in the field of Environmental Geotechnics.
