Our lab aims to look for solutions to some of Colombia's horticultural challenges and biodiversity lost. We are broadly interested in comparative biology and work in between basic sciences and biotechnology focusing on two main areas:

(1) the use of genetic diversity to broaden crop diversity and

(2) the understanding of Colombian emblematic plants.

To answer questions in these areas we borrow modern molecular and bioinformatic tools developed from fields such: the “-omics", phylogenetics, population genetics and plant development.
