Technology offers the middle school parent the means to actively participate in the child’s education without being visible in the school. If you have an old laptop or desktop computer that will not handle MS Windows 10, then I recommend that you install Ubuntu MATE 22.04 LTS. Ubuntu MATE is a free and open-source operating system that works great with older computers and works excellent on newer computers. It's great for educators and students. You don't have to worry about viruses attacking your system and destroying your files. LibreOffice, WPS Office, and ONLYOFFICE are excellent free replacements for MS Office. There's a lot of free educational software that can be installed on this operating system. Click on the "Software" link in the left pane for more information.
