Risk online is a board game played by two to six players. The game is based on strategies. The strategies involve establishing an army, taking command of it and beginning your campaign. Your main objective as a player is to dominate the world by eliminating your rivals.
The original version known as the Conquest of the World was played on a wooden board that had the map of the 18th Century European castles drawn on it. Thanks to the internet and technological advancements we can now play risk anytime you want to. You can play risk online against the computer or play risk online multiplayer against players in different parts of the world. You can also play this game with friends around you.
This is just like any other risk game except for the inclusion of “neutral” armies. Each of the two players selects a set of complete armies one of them picks a neutral set.
Each of these three sets contains 40 infantry pieces
If More Than Two Players Are Competing
Risk can be played by a maximum of six players. Each player counts 35 infantries in a three-player risk game, 30 infantries in a four-player, 25 in a five and 20 infantries in a six-player risk online game.
The play begins by the players rolling a die in turns. The player that rolls the highest number takes a single infantry piece from his pile and places it on any territory. The remaining players place their armies in empty territories until all the 42 territories are occupied. They do this in turns beginning from the left side of the first player. After all the territories are occupied, every player strategically puts a single army in any of their territories. This continues until no player has any army left unattached. There are no limitations to the number of armies you can place on a single territory.
A shuffle of the risk cards is then done. The shuffled cards are then placed face down by the board side. The player that placed the first army is the one to begin the play.
There are three steps in every turn that are;
On your turn, you must defeat your rival’s army and capture their territories. You control a continent by controlling all the territories in it. each continent has a different number of extra armies with Asia having 7 which is the highest followed by North America and Europe with 5 each, Africa with 3 and the last being South America and Australia with 2 extra armies each.
To determine the number of armies you receive, count the number of your territories and then divide the number you get by three. You should ignore the fractions. E.g if you have 17 territories then you are awarded 5 armies.
You earn one risk card every time you complete a turn and successfully capture at least a territory. You will aim to collect the following combination of cards: 3 cards of similar design e.g all the cards are infantry, Cavalry or Artillery, or one card from each design or even two from similar design and one from any design. Many online sites offer you the chance to play risk for free. All you need is to have an internet connection and a PC. The risk game is turn-based. Every player starts their attempt to capture and control territories from rival players with their armies. After capturing a territory, you then have to deploy your remaining units on your new acquisition.
