First Doc Sprint Schedule and Goals
February 3, 2012 from 9:15 am - 12:00 pm
The main goal for this first sprint is to create outlines and get started on content for the docs for which you are the expert. Remember, I can do the editing and formatting and final polishing, but you are the Subject Matter Expert, so I need you to Get Your Brilliance Down!
- 9:15 We meet in big open room upstairs on 4th floor and have some kolaches while we all together look again at the spreadsheet of doc deliverables and grasp our goal for the event. (Feel free to bring your chair if you don't like folding chairs!)
- 9:30 For each deliverable (i.e. each topic), we collaboratively decide 1) does a user of Birch/A1 need to know this info or can it be delayed til the Cedar release, and 2) a very basic outline (headers only).
- 10:00 – 11:00 Everyone returns to own office to write at least three fantastic sentences per section in their outline.
- 11:00 Everyone returns to conference room for chocolates… I’ll put wikis up on projector, and each developer shares what they have written so far. Then engineers either add more content to their outlines, OR rewrite outlines based on feedback and/or realizations that were made when they shared the three sentences.
- 12:00 Pizza delivered! And big sighs of relief that the hardest part, starting, is done and the rest will be “easy.”
Speaking of the rest being "easy..." look for another fun Doc Sprint in a couple of weeks, with more chocolate, bribery food, and the oft-promised beer. Oh, and cool swag... ;-)
