Turbo Installation
This is the completed installation minus the turbo exhaust pipe. It is a Rajay e-flow unit and will provide
42 inches of boost an aircraft manifold gauge. There is a manual wast-gate in the exhaust pipe coming from the
other side of the engine. Cruise speed, 170 at 3100 rpm, give or take.. OK, that's with no boost. I run 30 inches
of MAP, and adjust the prop pitch for best airspeed. she will run 42 inches at 3700 rpm for takeoff and climb out
and I pull it back to 30 or less. Even at just 30 inches the turbo is working some. At the 28 inches of MAP before
the turbo, about 150 was the best I could get. The mixture distribution after passing through the turbo is about as
good as you well ever get. And I think that the wee little bugger is helping to push air into the engine even below
30 inches. Helps pumping loses..
