At SynerChi Acupuncture we utilize multiple approaches to treat dysfunction, or disease in the body. Acupuncture is often the more well-known method, but it is not the only one. Many other techniques can be included in place of, or in addition to acupuncture. Below you will find a brief description of the techniques used in TCM.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is safe, drug free and effective. The use of very thin, sterile needles are placed into specific points on the body to promote circulation and mobilize your body's natural healing response.

Fire Cupping

Glass cups are placed on the body to create a suction in order to promote warmth and circulation of blood. This draws out old stagnant blood, and introduces fresh, oxygenated blood to promote healing.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine draws from a pharmacopeia of thousands of herbs for specific conditions. treats the root of the problem as well as the symptoms. Formulas are customized to each individuals needs address not only the symptoms but the root cause of the problem.

Moxibustion

Chinese Mugwort, Ai ye, is used as a heat therapy to promote healing and boost immunity. This can be used to improve energy, soothe arthritic joints, reduce menstrual pain, resolve skin issues and much more.

Auricular

The ear is considered a microsystem of the body. Microsystems use one aspect of the body; for example, the ears, hands or feet to treat conditions that are present anywhere in the body.

Nutrition

The food and drink we consume plays a huge role in our health. Food can be a slow form of poison or the most powerful form of medicine. We will look closely at the diet to modify and add where necessary.

Massage

When used appropriately, there is nothing like the human touch. Multiple styles of massage techniques are used to decrease pain and improve circulation.

Electro-stimulation

A gentle electric current used to increase blood flow,decrease inflammation and reduce pain.

Guasha

A tool used to press and scrape the skin is utilized to relieve pain and tension, guasha can also be used to fight off colds and flu.
