Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient medicine that dates back over 2,000 years.
Within TCM, multiple techniques are utilized to treat dysfunction or disease.  Acupuncture being
the most common method utilized in treatment is not the only one.  Many other techniques can be included
in place of or in addition to Acupuncture.  Below you will find a brief description of the
techniques we use in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Acupuncture:  The use of very thin, sterile needles inserted into specific points on the body to promote circulation and mobilize your body's natural healing and immune response.

Fire Cupping:  A therapy in which glass cups are placed on the skin to create a suction.  Cupping promotes the circulation of blood by drawing out stagnant, old blood and introducing fresh, new oxygenated blood which stimulates  healing.

Moxibustion:  Chinese Mugwort, Ai ye, is used as a heat therapy to  promote healing and boost immunity.  This can be used to improve energy, soothe arthritic joints, reduce menstrual pain, skin issues and much more.

Auricular:  The ear is considered a microsystem of the body.  Microsystems use one aspect of the body;  for example, the ears, hands or feet to treat conditions that are present anywhere in the body.

Electro-stimulation:  A gentle electric current  used to decrease inflammation and reduce pain.

Tui Na:  Chinese massage techniques used to decrease pain and improve circulation.

Herbal Medicine:  This is a great alternative to western pharmaceuticals which tend to override the body and and mask the problem, whereas Herbal Medicine treats the root of the problem as well as the symptoms.

Nutrition:  " Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food" - Hippocrates.  Need I say more?  The food and drink we consume play a huge roll in our health.  We will look closely at the diet to modify and add where necessary.
