STANDARDS & VERSIONS

We often hear terms such as jazz standard, arrangements, versions and swing classics.

These concepts are all related, but different, and it is worth while knowing how to distinguish between them.

We have prepared three pages with multiple examples explaining all this as clearly as possible.

What are jazz standards and swing classics?

Versions. The same song, with different arrangements.

Rose Room, an example of song versions.
