About Us

SWEET RHYTHM BIG BAND

There is nothing better than a live band to make a party go with a swing and Sweet Rhythm Big Band has been doing exactly that for almost thirty years in and around Greater Manchester. Playing music which ranges from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Ella Fitzgerald through to Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams, George Michael and Bruno Mars, we are able to encourage guests of all ages onto the dance floor.

Although we do charge fees for our performances at weddings, parties and corporate events etc., we are a not-for-profit organization and none of us benefit financially from our performances as we use our fees to pay our overheads and source new arrangements and we then donate the remainder to charity. Although we have had no gigs for over a year, we continue to meet every Friday for a virtual rehearsal.

This April Sweet Rhythm Big Band are taking on the Captain Tom 100 Challenge by performing 'You Can't Stop the Beat' from 'Hairspray', which is just over 100 bars in length. This is our third lockdown video. Due to social distancing rules, we've made our recordings individually in our homes and then our musical director has mixed them to create this video.  We hope that you enjoy our efforts and will give generously to our chosen charity: The Christie via our JustGiving page. Thank you.

To give ourselves time to rehearse and perfect tailored programmes for each gig, we limit ourselves to around twelve performances a year which means that we enjoy performing and can make the event extra special for you. We are available for every kind of function including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, charity fundraisers, garden parties and themed events.  We look forward to hearing from you when lockdown ends.

If you would like the band for a wedding, an anniversary, a charity fundraiser or a themed event in the Greater Manchester area, please do get in touch on:
