About

A Local Park and A Non-Profit Group Work Together for the Community

The concept of Berea Station Events began in informal meetings of a group of citizens who care deeply about the community. It eventually evolved into a non-profit organization that now promotes community unity and involvement through planning activities and events located at the Swamp Rabbit Station @ Berea. Berea Station Events works in cooperation with county agencies, school groups, local businesses, civic organizations, and community members to highlight the history and enhance the quality of life in Berea and in the surrounding areas.

Swamp Rabbit Station @ Berea

The Swamp Rabbit Station @ Berea is located at Sulphur Springs Road and Pinsley Circle. It is a unique pocket park situated at the halfway point on the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail between downtown Greenville and the city of Travelers Rest. The park has an information kiosk, a small seating area, and a vintage railcar with a locomotive on site. It features a large mural with artwork highlighting the local history of the Berea community. The park has become a destination, stopover, and resting place for many of the 500,000 visitors on this popular section of the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
