Conflict with human, along with habitat loss and poaching, drives the tiger into the current critical status. Effective mitigation of human-tiger conflict, therefore, plays a pivotal role in the conservation of the tiger. Many conflicts with tigers could have been avoided and prevented if people are willing and know how to do it. To try contribute in this critical area, working with colleagues at WWF I have compiled several principles for the avoidance and prevention of conflicts which I believe to be highly relevant for the use in tiger lands, especially Sumatra.
