Sue Hayes Music Tuition (SHMT) is a music school which aspires to enable people of all abilities to enjoy making music.
Instrumental tuition is offered in piano, flute, saxophone and clarinet to both adults and children. This can be to achieve success in examinations or simply to get more out of playing for fun.

Lessons are either delivered in Bourton near Swindon or at school for pupils at Shrivenham C of E Primary

The head and founder of the school is Sue Hayes who is a qualified music teacher (B.Ed Hons, CTABSRM, MISM, ISM Registered Private Teacher) with over 30 years experience and full DBS (formerly CRB) clearance. Sue also trains senior pupils to become music teachers themselves. These student teachers deliver lessons to some beginners.

The standard rate for individual lessons is £17 for 30 minutes and £11.30 for 20 minutes (plus travelling expenses where appropriate). Discounts are offered where lessons are delivered by student teachers.

As well as offering individual lessons, SHMT also has the Forte Band and the Forte Ensemble, where pupils can get the chance to play with others.
All pupils are encouraged to play for their friends and family in public. An annual concert is held every June and students are also invited to play at other events during the year, such as the Bourton Carol Concert and at local church services. Some students are entered for Associated Board music exams and the music festivals held in Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett and Faringdon.
