The Suburban Brothers Band played about 100 shows at Lily Flanagan's in Islip between 1996 and 2016.
Some say it was one of the longest running gigs on Long Island.

The Suburban Brothers Band There is something about the magic of an acoustic guitar; its music reaches those special spaces deep inside your soul and speaks of memories, aspirations and feelings that maybe have been dormant or weighed down. Acoustic guitar accompanied by the voices of Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, and of course, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Joni Mitchell, make me long for that era of music as both seer and soother, dreamer and dream; the art of storytelling in fluid form. The Suburban Brothers Band are comprised of Suburban Bob Pinnola and his cousin (by marriage) Mikey, who in Bob Pinnola's own words "is a finger picking full bodied rhythm guitarist" and Bob's son Ben, who plays sax, drums, bass, piano and guitar. They also have some of their own original songs which were so fine they sounded every bit as good as the classics. In fact one particular song, Brand New World, written and sung by Bob Pinnola, was very poignant and very appropriate for the times we live in. He wrote Brand New World one night to soothe his infant daughter back to sleep. It was especially beautiful to watch his now a bit older child, embrace her Dad after he finished their song. This folks is the magic of an acoustical guitar accompanied by poetry.

Bob Pinnola with college buddy Bob Cinque in May of 1980 in concert at SUNY Albany in their progressive rock jam band DREAMWORK, which included Chris Oliver on drums and Mike Sosna on keyboards. Their set list included original songs written by Pinnola and Cinque. They could and did play all night. Pinnola and Cinque are still good friends decades later, and both are attorneys (please don't hold it against them), playing gigs together regularly in Putnam and Westchester Counties. Cinque also sits in with the Suburban Brothers every now and then, still having fun jamming and playing music together after all these years.
