The Suburban Brothers Band  first formed over 20 years ago as Bob Pinnola gathered a bunch of "regular suburban guys" who liked to get together to play and write music, laugh, joke, relax, sing and jam on front porches, in backyards and at block parties.  Over the years, the times have changed and the band and their music have grown. The Suburban Brothers musical philosophy... Always something different.  Always with energy.  Always with style.

The Suburban Brothers Band has performed at well over 80 different venues throughout New York, Long
Island, Fire Island, Connecticut, Maryland, California and Virginia at concerts, clubs, taverns, pubs, festivals, restaurants, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, sophisticated art galleries and mansions (and not so sophisticated beach parties and tiki bars), at all types of events, big or small, electric or acoustic, indoor or outdoor, in the city or at the beach, as a full 6 piece band with a very cool horn section or as an acoustic duo on guitars singing harmonies, or anything in between... wearing very fashionable suits and ties or very comfy shorts and stylish Hawaiian shirts!

Rock/Blues/Jazz/(No Disco, Please)/ Contemporary/Everything Band

The Suburban Brothers Band
consists of... Bob Pinnola on lead, slide and rhythm guitars,
vocals, piano, harmonica, bass, drums, congas, banjo, cowbell, legal advice and stand up comedy. (Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference between his advice and comedy.)  Michael “Cousin Mikey” Immerman is one cool dude on full-bodied finger-picking guitar, vocals, kibitzing and is a master chef.  Ben Pinnola is Bob's son on bass, sax, piano, guitar, vocals, percussion and is a classically trained musician who enjoys every style of music and can play just about every instrument known to mankind.  Ferdinand “Freddy” Motley IV is on drums and all types of percussion, vocals and is clearly the best dressed and most stylish guy in the band. (Just ask him.)

Over the past few years, the band is often joined by special guest musicians. One very talented musician has grown to become a member of the band... Alexandria "Mustang Ally" Muller on smooth vocals, cool trumpet and French horn. Yes, there is a Suburban Sister in the Suburban Brothers Band!  And then there's Joe "Mojo" Clayton on percussion, bass and setting up sound systems and equipment with lightning speed and a big smile!

The entire band has a level of musicianship, friendship,
energy and creative chemistry that makes them stand out.

The Suburban Brothers Band played their first gig together on a cold winter night in 1996 at Lily Flanagan's in Islip NY .  They warmed the place right up!  They've been making music together ever since, having performed at Lily's about 100 times over the course of 20 years (some say it's a Long Island music scene record) as a full electric band with a horn section or as an acoustic guitar and vocal duo, and everything in between, at every kind of show and event, from holiday parties and summertime street fairs, to St.
Baldrick charities for children and Seatuck fundraisers for the environment.  It was at Lily's that Guitarist-at-Law Bob Pinnola  first joked he would offer his clients "10% off on their next arrest" if they came to his gigs. (Shows were packed!)  Whether it's because of, or in spite of, Bob's Rodney Dangerfield sense of humor, the Suburban Brothers have played at so many places, including... The Scully Mansion, Nicky's on the Bay, Treme Blues & Jazz Club, Great South Bay Brewery, Flynn's, Morningside Inn, Maxwell's, Fatwood Southern Kitchen, Lily Flanagan's, Bayberry Beach and Tennis Club, Bayside Clam Bar, Riverhead Ciderhouse, The Caramoor Center, Captain Bill's, Sunset on the Beach Restaurant, Murphy's Irish Pub, The Cradle of Aviation, and private parties in NY, MD, CT, CA, VA and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

All joking aside, the Suburban Brothers Band believes in supporting community and charitable organizations, including:  Seatuck Environmental Association, St. Baldrick's Foundation, Islip Chamber of Commerce, Wheelchairs and Veterans Enjoying Summer (WAVES), Walter Erwood Islip Community Beautification Project, Keep Islip Clean (KIC), Islip Arts Council, Over the Hill Gang Charity, Breast Cancer Care and Research, 9-1-1 Veterans Association, Sea Paddle NYC Autism Foundation and for community leaders and politicians on both sides of the aisle. (gasp!
