Opened by our new President for 2026/27 season

What a superb , sunny, dry afternoon to start the bowling season.
A good fun day with everyone enjoying the sunshine!
NEW TOILET !
November 2025
This is the start of new toilet cubicle which has been funded by our subscriptions etc and a couple of Grants procured by Kevin Moffatt. Work stripping old lockers, was carried out by John Scott. Then MATTHEW HOUGHTON (excellent plumber) began building the carcass, then the cubicle and installing toilet and basin, together with new sensor lighting etc.
Still more work to do - decorating etc but lots of hard work done already. GOOD JOB All of you and THANKS,
And more.....right up to completion ! The sensor lights are great with no fear of anyone leaving the lights ON !!
CUP PRESENTATIONS

After a successful AGM, the Presentation of trophies, cups etc were accepted by those who attended.
I think the first picture shows Robert had something that may have been irritating his ear so I took another!!

PRESIDENTS DAY
21st September 2025
Our President Kath, organised a superb day of games and frivolity and a 'Jacobs Join' being contributed to, by members who came and took part.
All this followed the Gardeners Cup final and the weather was great.....(I think Kath had even ordered the weather!!)

The FINAL of The Gardeners Cup took place on 21st September 2025, late morning, before Presidents Day celebrations between Andrew Trueman and Colin Haworth.

Davis organised a competition for his donated trophy. A very good afternoon with
a 'Round Robin' format, which had a few competitors catching the showers!........................

A well organised afternoon organised by President Kath, with a Round Robin format, despite very few members taking part, which was a shame after all organisation.
An overcast afternoon but no rain!
Those who took part appeared to enjoy it and games were good to watch.....

LADIES EVERITE & MENS MEAKIN COMPETITIONS

The weather was kind to us while enjoying our two annual competitions and was very well organised by our President Kath and Vice President Cliff.

What a perfect day for the Sandra Ion Invitation Charity Day.
The rain cleared as we started the 'Round Robin', organised by Cliff and our President Kath.
Members taking part were partnered, by invitation, with a member from another bowling club.
We had a great Jacobs Join Buffet and in total over £200.00 was raised from entry monies, raffle and donations from our invited partners for Cancer UK.
Qualified doubles from each group. WINNERS June and invited partner Ian Runners Up Kath and invited partner Bill.

JUNIOR CROWN GREEN BOWLS - TASTER SESSIONS
Do you know of any 8 to 18 year olds who would like to try Crown Green Bowling?
A son or daughter, grandchild, niece, nephew, family member or friend of a friend ? who would like to come to our taster sessions?
Wednesdays 30th July and 6th August. Fridays 1st and 8th August 2-3pm

Flat shoes must be worn, trainers are OK.
Run and supervised by a DBS checked player. Parents / guardians are welcome to stay.
K.S.B.C. JUNIOR "TRY CROWN GREEN BOWLING SESSIONS"
July - August
Thanks to Kevin Moffatt for his organisation and teaching all the interested juniors,
boys and girls (sessions are still ongoing).
He has had a number at each Wednesday and Friday sessions
with help from some members.
On Wednesday 30th July we had a visit from the newly appointed MAYOR of KENDAL who showed a great interest and even tried bowling for himself.
Perhaps an additional member for K.S.B.C. in 2026?
Unfortunately our President Kath was unable to attend and meet the Mayor so it was left to Kevin, and to take the pictures too.......hence no photo of Kevin.
