Turnitin Software

Turnitin Software is used to check plagiarism, and it has been observed that mostly people do not know how to use this software.

there are few points which one should keep in mind while checking plagiarism.

The main issue which i would like to tell you is that whenever you check your paper for plagiarism, make sure that your name is correctly spelled, never use nick name or dummy name because it is feed in the software database.

i have seen many cases when student checked plagiarism either by themselves or through other ways, they checked it with dummy name, or even mistakenly put wrong spelling. for example if i checked my paper with named Uzma awan and on documents my name is Uzma Bashir, when i checked plagiarism it was 10% (remember that i have checked with Uzma awan) but when i submitted for plagiarism checking in research section, it shows 100% plagiarism. this is because my work was already saved with the name of uzma awan. if this happened with you, then please dont get tense. there is one option in the software which stop paper to be saved in database. i will discuss it later, but now if your paper is saved in the database with wrong or misspelled name what you need to do. ALWAYS SAVE ALL YOUR PLAGIARISM REPORTS and when you submit your thesis for plagiarism, you should provide all reports as a proof that they belongs to you. but unfortunately if you did not save them, then it will create problem for you.

There is also misconception that if you delete paper from the account then it will delete all record. this is TOTALLY WRONG. always remember that if you delete paper from your account, it will only delete from your account not from the data base. It is still saved in the data base. so deleting any paper is not solution to this problem.

IMPORTANT POINT: To avoid all such problems, ALWAYS USE NO-REPOSITORY OPTION while checking plagiarism. if you use this option, then your paper will not save in database.
