Description

(P) In P.E.O.E. (aka P.O.E.) activities, students are presented with a situation and asked to predict the outcome.

(E) Students usually create one or more labeled diagrams to convey their thinking. After predicting, students support their predictions with reasons based on experience, previous study, or assigned reading.

(O) The activity is completed, preferably by the students, with students observing and carefully recording the results.

(E) Finally, students explain whether their predictions were supported or not, and offer deeper explanations based again on experience, previous study, assigned reading, a new lesson or new study.
