Why give? St. Stephen's is a small church with a big heart. We feed people in need with our food pantry, gift baskets at Christmas, and our community dinners. We give to Blessings in a Backpack to provide meals on the weekends to kids who wouldn't otherwise get enough to eat. We donate basic necessities to people working to recover from substance abuse at Mariner's Inn. We offer space for meetings to recovery groups and families with kids on the autistic spectrum in our community. We also have vibrant worship and Christian formation. We care for each other. All of this costs money. Our building is the place where much of our ministry and worship happens, and we need to maintain it, heat it in the winter, and pay the electric bill - we've installed energy-saving and energy-efficient devices wherever possible and just recently had an energy audit to help us conserve even more. We have to have someone to answer the phone, coordinate volunteers, and assist people in need - believe it or not, Joan does all of that and more on a part-time salary! We need someone to keep the building looking its best, and Mauna does that on a part-time basis. We need a pastor to provide spiritual direction, pastoral care, and worship leadership - and Pastor Andrea, like Joan and Mauna, is also part-time. We strive to be good stewards of your contributions. We don't believe that giving makes you a better person, or that God will bless you with financial wealth if you give to us. But we do humbly ask that you consider helping us with our mission, both with your time and talents and with your financial support. We believe that all we have comes from God, and that giving comes from a feeling of abundance. If you have that feeling and the financial resources to share, please consider becoming part of our family of supporters. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

Sign up for Bill Pay with your bank! This option is free to you and to St. Stephen's. Check with your bank about how to do it, as procedures vary across banks.

Sign up for online giving! Follow this link. It's fast and easy. (Note from Pastor Andrea: I created an account and signed up to give a donation twice a month, in less than 5 minutes!) Online giving is safe, convenient, and free to you. The church pays a low fee, which is comparable to a bank account maintenance fee, plus a per transaction fee. The fee is lower (1%) if you use your bank account than if you use a credit or debit card (2.75%). You can choose to give once now or on a specified date, or you can set up a recurring gift. You can cancel or change at any time. You can use a credit or debit card or your checking account.

Get a pledge card or envelopes! Call (734-284-8777) or email (office@ststephensonline.com) Joan. About 2/3 of our offerings come in this way, and we are happy to help you get started.
