Our first house had frequent visitors. Numerous birds, turtles, snakes and even alligators.

The retention pond was just two houses down from ours.

Every year, at least one baby alligator lived there until it would get too big.

Our first couple of years, before we put up a fences,

a Guinea Hen would come through our yard and stop by our glass door almost every day.

One day, the hen stopped coming. Perhaps eaten by the gator? More likely a dog.

One day, a big gopher tortoise passed through our back yard on the way to get water.

I had Sonia take photos of me holding it, but her hard drive crashed that month.

I lost those photos and several more important ones.
