This is where I am moving the material I've placed on my personal pages on my university website, http://www.dur.ac.uk/h.j.harris/stoves.htm. I created most of them several years ago, early in my current research and writing project on "The Cast-Iron Stove and Its Industry in Victorian and Post-Victorian America." (That at least is the way the thing began -- as the years have gone by, my focus has shifted into the early C19th and even the C18th, and the book I plan to finish will hardly get past the Civil War, by which time the industry and its products had assumed their mature form, and stoves were ubiquitous features of American households.) Maybe this site, too, will experience considerable changes of plan in the course of its implementation, and will become as stagnant as the old one, or for that matter as the blog I created during another university vacation, tempted then as now by the free stuff Google puts at one's disposal (see http://stovehistory.blogspot.co.uk/). But maybe not -- as it's a Google product, I can easily access it from anywhere, and even when I leave the payroll of the University of Durham, this will stay with me.

One of the HT's advantages is that if you create a (free) account, you can then build up "Collections" of books, and make them, if you wish, freely available to anybody else. Here is my Stoves collection, https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/mb?a=listis;c=927862667, which will only grow...
