Stony Brook

Astronomy Club

Fall 2024 meeting time: Thur. 8pm ESS 450/001

Astro Club is a group of undergraduate students who are dedicated to increasing their understanding of the universe in which they live, and sharing this with others. We are especially interested in educating Stony Brook students and the public on astronomy, physics, and science in general, regardless of their background. Each semester, we hold weekly GBMs, take multiple off-campus trips, hold outreach events, and observe with our 14 inch and 8 inch telescope if the weather permits..

Join us every week for a presentation on a different astronomy/space related topic. After our weekly meetings, we are observing on the roof of ESS (or an activity if it is cloudy).

Interested in the club? Our Fall 2023 meetings are Thursdays at 8:00pm in person. You do not need any prior knowledge in astronomy or physics to attend the meetings; all you need is an interest in space!
