The Moon, this is a composite of 3 images each taken through the H_alpha filter. This image was achieved with some luck since the Moons intensity was just shy of the maximum operational parameter of the CCD. The exposure time for each of the three images was only .120 seconds!
This image of the moon was taken with a mask on the telsecope (a mask is a fancy word for a piece of cardboard that makes the collecting area of the telescope smaller as to let less light in and not saturate the CCD). As with the above image, this is a composite of 3 images, obviously on a different night!
