The seminar by Peter Diggle on Tuesday 8th will originate from Macquarie University node. We will also be aiming to use the Access to EVO bridge. EVO users will need to look for the appropriate 'room' in EVO.

Slides for the talk are in a pdf file at Presentation for Grid Seminar
as well as being transmitted as part of the Access Grid and EVO transmission.
Using EVO to view Access Grid Seminars
Written by a novice for first timers. There may be some errors or differences because the set up of my PC is different to yours.
After you log into EVO you see EVO Koala with a number of “venues” listed down the left hand side. We will be using one of “AG Venue Kangaroo”, “AG Venue Emu” or “AG Venue Platypus”. We can’t book one, so try them in that order.
On May 8th we should be transmitting by 2:15 if you want to set up and test beforehand. [If you wish to test beforehand, a couple of the venues are for testing (anytime). There is supported testing at 11am each Monday.]
When you enter the right venue, you should see the “controls” – icons that allow you to (a) hear (or mute) what is occurring in the room (b) open or mute your microphone, (c) share (or not) a portion of your desktop (d) transmit or not your video and a couple of others. There is also a text window where you can transmit messages (Such as “help” or “we can’t hear very clearly, stand closer to the mike” or “the people at site X should mute their mike”).
Another window (the “Venue Window”) should open with some windows within it showing participants in the meeting and the speaker’s slides.
You can make one of the windows (eg the slides) by hovering he mouse near the left bottom of the window you wish to enlarge. A pale pair of icons should appear and the one on the right will make that window much bigger.
It is possible that the quality of the slides will not be adequate for EVO viewers, so the slides will be made available for download to your local machine as a back up. That is, use EVO for seeing and hearing the participants, including the speaker, but view the slides from your own machine.
During the presentation, please mute your microphone to avoid feedback and excessive background noise.
