The seminar will be available for viewing either in Access GRID rooms at many universities or by using software installed on a personal computer – either Access GRID or Evo - see the subheadings on this page. We will be taking advantage of the Access Grid – EVO bridge. See http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/video-collaboration-how-to/287
Unfortunately, it seems that Access Grid software and EVO are only available to people affiliated with research organisations – universities and CSIRO. If this is causing a difficulty for you, please contact murray.cameron@csiro.au to be put in touch with a local site to see the seminar.
Access GRID Rooms
More information on Access GRID is available at http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/group-video-collaboration and other sites referred to there.
A full list of all Access Grid Nodes is at http://www.accessgrid.org/nodes . The list is extensive with many universities having more than one.
According to the AMSI website http://www.amsi.org.au/research-a-higher-education/access-grid/agabout
AMSI/ICE-EM established a network of Access Grid Rooms (AGRs) at AMSI member universities to enable greater collaboration between the mathematical sciences community both within Australia and internationally.
If you wish to attend one, it is recommended that you contact your preferred site beforehand to ensure that it is participating in the Seminar.
A document about starting to use Access GRID (from a personal computer) is available at http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/video-collaboration-how-to/218 . This includes links to download software.
EVO
Information about using EVO is available at http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/video-collaboration-how-to/220 . Essentially, you first need to ensure that you have the latest Java installed and then go to the EVO@au portal
https://access.arcs.org.au/wayf.html?entityID=https%3A%2F%2Faccess.arcs.org.au%2Fshibboleth&return=https%3A%2F%2Faccess.arcs.org.au%2FShibboleth.sso%2FDS%3FSAMLDS%3D1%26target%3Dcookie%253A4285b8ca and follow the guidelines there.
Note that you will need to register separately with ARCS (authenticated through your institution) and with EVO. Ultimately, software called Koala will be downloaded to your computer. There is a site for testing your setup (given at the bottom of http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/video-collaboration-how-to/220) once the software is installed.
To use the Access – EVO bridge to view the seminar, see http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/video-collaboration-how-to/287 .
Note that (http://www.arcs.org.au/index.php/desktop-video-collaboration) :
