Prayer Resources

Prayer is at the heart of the Christian life

Christians are encouraged to pray together, and to pray individually - at all times and in all circumstances.  The Bible teaches us: "Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6,7).  There are many different ways of praying: below are some resources you can use at home, for personal prayer and to join in with the worship of the Church when you are unable to attend church.

New Zealand Prayer Book | He Karakia Mihinare o Aotearoa

The whole of the prayer book is available online here.   During this time, when Anglicans are not meeting for public worship, the vicar is happy to lend you a copy of the prayerbook if you would rather use a physical copy than read prayers online.

You can find the Daily Devotions from the New Zealand Prayer Book | He Karakia Mihinare o Aotearoa here. These are useful for short daily prayers you can use anywhere, and are based mainly on the New Testament.
