Beanies for Schools

Knitters in the parish have been helping St Luke's AAW to knit beanies for primary schools.

Margaret delivered 40 blue and yellow beanies to Pembroke School. Brockville School in Dunedin (red beanies) say they have enough for this winter,

We're now knitting red and black beanies for North School Oamaru who have 70-80 students.

Interesting facts about knitting:

  • It can help with managing stress, anxiety, and depression
  • It keeps your brain healthy
  • It can help with motor skills
  • It's a meditative act
  • It instils pride on completion

Below is our simple beanie pattern.
