In late 2024, the Botetourt County Historical Society contacted me about producing a historical map of Botetourt's borders at the time of the Revolution. With the help of undergraduate cartography students Emma Dilic, Sarah Cohoon, and Hannah Crook, we created a map to tell the 250-year story of this area.
The map was presented to the BCHS for use in their museum and as a teaching tool for public groups. The map itself depicts the historic border of Botetourt extenting to the Ohio River, as well as prominent rivers and settlements of the time.
Our work was featured in the Fincastle Herald, and as a VT News article.
