There's at least one song that brings together my love for Philly R/B fused w jazz. And I love the artists that have covered the song, some of which include Grant Green, Ramsey Lewis, Tuck & Patti, & The Stylistics. But the most famous artist to cover the song was Prince. There's a piece of all of them in my arrangement.
By itself, the "junk" I pulled out of my parent's house has no meaning in of itself (except for sentimental meaning to me). But with a story, my story, and with the invaluable help of Bethany (bethanylherron.com), these boxes of junk became works of art that drew people into a story that was bigger than any of us individually.
Below is a picture of my favorite part of the evening...a toast from the men who have journeyed most closely with me over the last five years. (Many have told me this was their highlight too)
