LIWC Global Citizen Dictionary

Purpose: The LIWC global citizen dictionary counts the number of words related to global citizenship in written texts.

The Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) software program counts the frequency of words and organizes them into meaningful categories (www.liwc.net; Pennebaker, Chung, Ireland, Gonzales, & Booth, 2007). The global citizen dictionary (file at bottom of page) was constructed to count the number of words in a text that are related to global citizenship identity (for a description of the construction of the word list see Reysen et al., 2014).
