I am assistant professor of special eduction with a focus on language development at the newly founded Department of Special Education at the University of Koblenz, Germany.
Bridging psycholinguistics and special education, I study individual differences in the development of language abilities and how they shape learning trajectories across the school years.
New publication in Cognitive Science on individual differences in reading: Our study shows that psycholinguistic effects which are often robustly replicated at the group level do not necessarily replicate within individuals over time. (PDF)
June 18-20, 2026 The 4th edition of the Workshop on Eye Movements and Reading Assessment will take place at the University of Koblenz. I would be delighted to welcome many of you there. A call for papers will be announced soon!
New publication of an overview paper (in German) that provides a comprehensive review on currently available instruments for assessing language abilties of students in first grade. In addition, the paper offers guidance on alternative instruments to consider if an assessment turns out not to measure the intended language skills.(PDF )
