Winifred McBain
Player: Marissa Cowan
(Assistant Guildmistress)

Occupation: Goodwife
Winifred is married to Stuart MacBain, but that doesn't slow her down. By trade she is a seamstress, sometimes she is quietly sewing, minding
her own business. When the husband is away, she can be found fishing for Scotsmen, begging for drink, ore just plain getting into trouble.
Beatrix AbercroftPlayer: Becky Ashton (Assistant Guildleader)Role: Carouser
Occupation: Cook
The eldest of 12 children, her parents haven't let her wed yet, because she's been so helpful in raising her bothers & sisters... She's the family cook.
Beatrix loves faire; a chance for her to escape from the family croft, oogle men (ones not related to her) & drink beer.
Stuart McBain
Player: Charles Cowan
Role: Inn Keep
Occupation: Respectable Townsperson & Monger
Stuart is the local inn keep, but off times things are slow. He heads to faire to sell his fresh pressed cider. He loves to experiment with different varieties of apples and talk about cider pressing methods with passersby. Keeping Winifred in fine linens and ale is an expensive proposition, so Stuart
sometimes resorts to selling "fine" fish in the market.
Daf(Daphine Drinkamugameadaday)
Player: Kristin Perkins (Asst. Guildmistress)
Role: Naif
Occupation(s):Capturing fairies, blowing bubbles, entertaining urchins, rolling down hills, asking questions, telling stories, playing games, causing mischief, chasing Calabash
Daf was a bright child; too perceptive and simultaneously naïve for her own good. This has led her to frequently ask the wrong question at the inopportune moment (“But sir, was your ladyfriend not a redhead and much younger just yestereve?”). This tendency has managed to so annoy those she’s been apprenticed to that she’s gone through all the available roles in the shire. She has been a baker, seamstress, ladies’ maid, schole-mistress, weaver, spinner, and even (showing her parents' desperation) a blacksmith…
She is currently being “studied” by the fool Calabash, who is intrigued by her ability to cause trouble without meaning to.
Brigid is a matchmaker who has no match! Out and about, trying to catch herself a husband, don't be surprised if she tries to meddle in your romantic affairs! Just a warning...her matches are never quite right! This year, she's on the lookout for a match for Our Glorious Majesty, Queen Mary! God save the queen... When not matchmaking, you can find Brigid roaming with her sheep amusing the little ones of the shire or begging for ale with her other poor wenches.
Brigid AbercroftPlayer: Bree ArmentroutRole: Village Maiden
Occupation: Shepherdess & Matchmaker
It is rumored that she is having an affair with a traveling juggler named Caelan Baillie, who occasionally makes an appearance in the village during faire.
Prudence MacLucasPlayer: Rhonda BaileyRole: GoodwifeOccupation: BakerPrudence is the youngest daughter of a poor farmer and as such had no dowry. She was married off to a cruel friend of her father’s at the age of 14. This marriage proved unbearable for Prudence and after several years of abuse, she ran away and found herself in our village. Only her closest friends know of her dark past.
She was able to find work with the village baker and after spending long hours at the ovens in the wee hours of the morning, Prudence can be found around the village with her basket full of bread and scones selling to the locals.
BodiciaPlayer: Barbara KopeckyRole: Connoisseur of men
Occupation: Washer Woman
Blurb: Bodicia is always on the look out for her next husband, as she seems to misplace them, often before anyone gets to meet them.
She tends to play more than wash, enjoying the opportunity to talk men out of their 'dirty' shirts so that she may... um... wash them. Yes. That's it...
Jillanna
Player: Jillanna Kopecky
Role: Urchin
Occupation: Dirty Urchin, Apprentice Baker, Pickpocket in training.
Jillanna is Bodicia's daughter and has a lot of time on her hands. She is the ringleader of the village urchins. She likes to entertain the adults in hopes of distracting them from her "other interests".
Edward AcornPlayer: Michael EdgarRole: General Opportunist (ne’er-do-well, but Edward doesn't like to be called that)
Occupation: Poacher, pickpocket, general man of misdeeds
Edward likes to do nothing. But you can't do nothing on nothing, that takes coin. So Edward earns it the easiest ways open to him... by going into economic sectors that have the most potential for growth: poaching, "borrowing" (without asking, mostly), and the occasional purse cutting.
Edward is quiet and tries to blend into the background a bit, making it easier to be a layabout or - when opportunity presents itself - to grab some unwatched coin.
The Schole
of
Pleasant Pastymes
(An independent sister guild...)
Sir Jerome Cameron
Player: Jay Bricker
Mistress Melantha Collins
Player: Melanie Mayo (Guildmistress)
Role: Social Climber
Occupation: Dame Schoolmistress
Mistress Collins has tired of teaching young children but has realized there would be more money in teaching young women to teach the young children. As such, she has taken on a few apprentice school mistresses in pursuit of that goal.
She is sometimes in the service of Lady Hunsdon as a serving gentlewoman. After being recently widowed she has caught the eye of the Lord Chamberlain' s hand, Sir Jerome, who has showed his attentions (and mayhap his intentions) with small gifts and tokens.
Hobb
Player: Eva Collins
Role: fairy
Occupation: Making Mischief
Hobb is a very quiet fairy that only talks to a few people. She can oft been seen running about with her dear friend who just happens to be a Griffin. Beware though the quiet exterior hides the soul of a prankster, and one must tread carefully or find ones self covered in fairy dust.
Sir Jerome is the third son of a minor clan nobleman. He left home around 16 years of age, aboard a fishing boat to Ireland, then on a merchant ship to Mediterranean. He left the ship and banded together a group of mercenaries, "The Black Dragons." They spent many years as body guards and caravan guards in the Ottoman Empire. He fought at the gates of Venice with the Ottoman Empire. He was knighted by Suluman theGreat.
He left his second in command with the Dragons and traveled through Europe eventually ending up in England.
There he met Sir Henry Carey, Baron Hunsdon later to become Queen Elizabeth's Lord Chamberlain. He fought with Lord Hunsdon on the English-Scottish border against the Reavers and became his friend, personal aide - "the Hand" and family bodyguard.
[editor's note: This world traveler has also the distinction of having been the first to introduce the Turkish drink "Qawha al Bin" (coffee) to the British Isles, God bless him!]
Role: Mercenary
Occupation: The Hand of the Lord Chamberlain, Captain of the Black Dragon's Mercenaries
Izzy
Player: Jaymie Workman
Role: Village Maiden
Occupation: Apprentice Schole Mistress
Izzy was born in Scotland to a poor farmer, and his wife. Due to her inability to grow even the most invasive of weeds, and the fact that her mother died when she was very young, leaving her with no way to learn the womanly skills she would need to be married off, her father was forced to apprentice her out to Lady Cameron, at the Schole of Plesant Pastymes. Knowing that she can't come home until she proves herself useful to her father, she can oft be found searching out fairies in the hopes that they might bless her with a green thumb, or seeking the advice of intelligent looking people on the delicate matter of growing vegetables. She spends a lot of time, trying her hand at things, hoping to find something that she is good at. Sometimes when her father has an abundant crop he will send her to market with fruits and vegetables to sell, as way of allowance, because he knows how Izzy loves to shop.
