St Albans Elfin group works through a cooperative committee of parents. This means that there is no one person that you could call the "leader".
In order to make this work, we all need to do our bit. This means each parent signing up to help run a session at least once every half term, or taking on some other behind-the-scenes job.
Running group nights
We need a minimum of two adults for each session (we must also consider legal adult-child ratios). Siblings are very welcome to attend on the evenings when you help out. There is a suggested structure to sessions that can be followed (news circle, games, activity, songs) but doesn't need to be. We can work towards badges or run one-off sessions on anything we think the children would be interested in. We can make this group what we (or more to the point, our kids!) want it to be. We are also keen for other friends and family to get involved on any level.
Planning
We meet up once every half term to plan the following half term's activities etc - this could be an evening at a pub or similar, or at Mandeville School during the Elfin group session.
The rota and keeping in touch
Most of our communications are through the e-group. Once you have signed up, you can set your preferences to dictate the frequency with which you receive emails or email digests.
Paperwork
There must be a minimum of two adult WCF members, who are CRB checked present at every group night. Any adults attending camp also need to be CRB checked. You can become an adult member (£20) when your child joins the Elfins.
