Aims and Objectives of SSS

The Society aims to improve the cause of senior citizens in areas like: financial security, social well-being, shelter, lifestyle or "quality of life" improvements and spiritual uplift. It also aims to empower the senior citizen to stand on his own feet and become self-reliant. It also aims to make the senior citizen a part of a strong united force to reckon with by other sections of the society

The Society intends to fulfill the above aims through the following specific activities.es

Ø      Offer a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences

Ø      Provide a website for disseminating required information

Ø      Bring out periodical and ad hoc publications in print & electronic media

Ø      Conduct training programs and offer capacity building opportunities

Ø      Organize regular meetings, discussions, debates and lectures

Ø      Provide a range of concierge services

Ø      Give counseling and advice

Ø      Help seniors in securing second-career offers

Ø      Secure Concessions & discounts in things they buy regularly

Ø      Offer referral services

Ø      Provide opportunities for consultancy & academic advisory duties

Ø      Run a day care center equipped with library, indoor games and Internet

Ø      Co-operate and share experiences with similar organizations

Ø      Work towards unification and consolidation of efforts of similar organizations

Ø      Set up an “Adopt a grandpa / grandma “ program

Ø      Set up an “Adopt a Grandchild” program

Ø      Liaise with Government Agencies, departments and represent problems of seniors

Ø      Set up a cell for helping seniors in RTI matters

Ø      Any other related activities, incidental to the above, in line with aims stated above.
