Part 4 of the Palestinian series: LAND OF THE FATHERS (1974), A REASON TO GO (1977), ADIOS BEIRUT (1983), HOMELAND (2010). George Sluizer’s deeply personal and impassioned "Homeland" is an emotive reflection on war. Sluizer’s recent near-death experience provokes a reckoning with his own history, when he reunites with two families he has filmed since 1974. His story is set in the ongoing tragedy of the Palestinian diaspora, and his involvement with his subjects is poignant nearly beyond measure. Homeland is a very rare opportunity to assess the Palestinian story personally. – Glen Sheppard

After a near-death experience due to an aneurisma, director George Sluizer felt he had to go on filming and started research for a project he had in mind for a long time. It became the documentary HOMELAND, the fourth of a series about two Palestinian families he followed since 1974 in "Land of the Fathers", "A Reason to go" and "Adios Beirut". HOMELAND is also a personal film about his motivation, his relationship with the members of the two families who became very close. They are now scattered around the world, unable to return to the homeland.

It is also an historical saga about the Palestinian people and their struggle for land and dignity. Thanks to the families Hammad and Jaddaand to Mahmoud Darwish and Mich'ael Zupraner.
