Sputnik plays at a couple of different sites depending on what the weather is doing, how many people we have and how bad we have torn-up our last field. All of our field choices are RTP working-stiff, lunch time friendly (meaning you can get there pretty quick from anywhere inside 'da park'). 

Here are the sites we get together at. Remember we alternate between locations based on the field conditions, although rarely. You will know where to go to play when you get the GO e-mail @ 11AM.

#1 - C.M. Herndon Park: This is our primary field. Pull all the way back to the turf fields (far from Scott King Road) near the bathrooms and playground structures. Our first choice are these back fields, but if someone has the fields reserved or we have a ton of people we may play up front. If we have 20+ players we will play two full-sized fields, side-by-side.

#2 - Piney Wood: This is our back-up field. We often move here in the summer months (June, July, August) when the turf fields are as hot as the surface of the sun. 

When you turn into the park, stay right and pull all the way back to the bathrooms. Park there. The field is 10 yards past the bathrooms on the path.

#3 - RTI Fields: If we have low numbers (6-8) and/or we have enough requests we may go here. This as an 'old skool' back of a softball field kind of setup. Works best when we play no more than 6-on-6 so if we don't get an accurate headcount by 11AM and we have a bunch of folks...may be some sitting involved.
