Your work on the assignment should begin with a reading of the synopsis of your assignment and the question associated with the assignment.
Think of the synopsis as something that comes up when you are talking to a patient about his condition. You begin by explaining to your patient how the body normally function and how the modified function (dysfunction) presents as his 'disease'. Thus your assignment equates to 'Assessing your patient'
Next up is the question associated with the assignment. This is the question that you frame based on your patient's inquiry and roughly translates to 'Asking the question'
Once you have your question you can begin looking for the answer ('Acquiring the Evidence'). You should already be familiar with the use of medline for article retrieval and that is a good place to start gathering the evidence. You then need to look at all the evidence you collect ('Appraise the Evidence') and see how well it answers your questions. Finally once you have good quality evidence you can use it to answer the question ('Applying the Evidence').
