Works Cited Examples - MLA 2009
Ø A Works Cited page is an alphabetically arranged list of all the works (sources) used to support ideas in a research paper. Other names for such a list are Bibliography (which means "description of books") and Literature Cited. Naming this page Works Cited is probably most appropriate because, in addition to books, research papers today often rely on many different sources, such as videos, television, the Internet, and other non-print material. For every entry, you must determine the Medium of Publication. Most entries will likely be listed as Print or Web sources, but other possibilities may include Film, CD-ROM, or DVD.
Ø It is not ethical if you do not give credit to or acknowledge when you use someone else's thoughts and/or words. It is called plagiarism.
Ø A Works Cited list has three different sections of information: Author, Title, and Publication.
