At the end of the year, a tournament is held for all archers to participate in. The tournament is bracketed similar to the NCAA basketball tournament. Archers are placed in one of four groups and matched up against each other based on average. Meaning, a 20 yard archer averaging 210 points for the year could be matched up against a 5 yard archer averaging 212 points for the year.
The fun begins when a group is sent to the line. The archers are introduced to the person they are paired with and wish each other well. Each archer shoots five arrows and the highest score of each pairing advances to the next round. Each archer gets a pin for participating and the final four receive a trophy. This is an absolute blast for the kids. The kids really pull for each other and are genuinely excited for each other. By the end of the night, you can hear a pin drop during the final four.
