In 1943 there was no Price County Fair held. The leaders of the “Busy Beavers” and “Hillbillies” 4-H clubs, Roy Meier, Ruby Meier, Albert Bergeson and Mr. and Mrs. George Blomberg, decided to have their own area fair. This grew over the years to become the "Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H Fair."
The 1st annual fair, known as the "Hill and Spirit 4-H Community Fair" was held on Labor Day in 1943.
The first officers of the fair were: Herman Ernst, President & Chairman; Arthur Johnon, Treasurer; Albert Bergeson and Ruby Meier, Secretaries.
Money for premiums was raised by donations, as it has been in each year since. Judges and department superintendents are all volunteers.
Current fair board members include Darrel Lind, Ed Ulrich, Lynn Peterson, Adam Kielsmeier, and Molly Kielsmeier.
