Paperboard Dome*

Dome which results from the subdivision of a semi sphere into a number of diamond shaped faces, each of which has two triangular openings. Three diamond shaped tiles are unfolded into six cut patterns, an outer and inner cut pattern that outline the profi le of the surface required to be folded to form each cell.

A cut pattern for the top triangular piece is also included, dividing its surface into a regular pyramidal surface divided made up of three triangles. A variation of this prototype was patented as the Paperboard Dome Patent (1959) and the Paperboard Dome, India (1972).
