    • Text commenting on Individual videos within session page
    • Embed for speedgeek session page, organically created for each speedgeek session

Develop the following design:

    • Logo and branding
    • Session page design and interface

Phase 2:

Develop the following technologies:

    • Live video streaming
      • Via Red5 server
    • Video recording
      • Via Red5 recorder application
      • Posting locally and on YouTube
    • Video commenting on individual videos
    • Embed for speedgeek recording page
    • Live ratings

Develop the following design:

    • Recording Page design and interface
    • Live page design and interface

Phase 3:

Develop the following technologies:

    • Video Podcast and RSS Creation
    • Embed for speedgeek live page
    • Uploading supporting docs
    • Internal linking using callouts on the videos
    • Assessments built into branded speedgeeks for training and assessment purposes

Actual Development and Costs:

Phase 1:

Product Prototype:

    • Built from the following technologies/tools:
      • Custom Flash
        • Carousel developed that pulls FLV files from a local directory and stores them into an array. It pulls a screenshot with the same name as the FLV file.
      • YouTube Embeds in the a 3d carousel
      • Update (10.06.09): Just got the YouTube wrapper working so we can load YouTube videos in AS3. Now I can dev in AS3 which will have much better performance and a better 3D look. - Tom Metz
      • Further Update - Only one Youtube embed possible at the moment, so we have switched to using internal FLV files for quicker turnaround. We are using Keepvid.com to grab the videos and then notifying the presenters about their use.
