Activities

    1. Thesis research work by Ph.D. P.G. and U.G. and students of DA-IICT or from any other institutes of India or abroad (through proper channel)

      • Several UG and PG students learn basic speech recording techniques.

      • They also go for data collection work in different dialectal regions of a state for an Indian language.

      • Development of software for Speech and Speaker recognition, TTS, etc in the Indian language.

    2. Writing research papers and preparing presentations for possible publications/presentations at the national/international level.

    3. Development of Speech Corpora for Speech Research in Indian Languages: We propose to create a centre for excellence for developing standard and statistically meaningful speech corpora for different speech processing tasks such as speech, speaker and language recognition, speech coding, speech synthesis, etc. In fact, these developed corpora will be a valuable asset.

    4. Execution of sponsored projects: The group is executing five sponsored projects from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

    5. Seminars: Several seminars are organized from time-to-time to different eminent scientists, engineers or researchers in the field.

    6. Specialized Courses/Workshops/ Invited Talks/Winter School: In the recent past, the group has organized some specialized high-quality events (for postgraduate or research students) to help them in pursuing high-quality research. For details please visit [Link].

    7. Participation in International Conferences: Group members participiate in national and international conferences and workshops (such as ICASSP, INTERSPEECH, WiSSAP, WISP, ISCSLP, IALP, O-COCOSDA, PReMI, PerMIn, ICAPR, SPCOM, etc) to present their research work.
