Much of SPNA’s area is part of Southside Historic District, which preserves the historic architecture of our neighborhood.  We assisted Bill Burg in research for his 2007 photographic history book, Sacramento’s Southside Park. It's available at Beer’s Books, The Avid Reader, and elsewhere.  We produced an extensive index to that book, available for free at

We also worked with the Sacramento Old City Association to produce their 2007 tour of historic homes in Southside Park.  Our involvement in historic research is ongoing.

In 2008 we worked with Sacramento Tree Foundation to produce a map and guide called “The Magnificent Trees of Southside Park.”
