AWIS hosted a booth at a STEM outreach event for Girl Scouts at the University of New Orleans on September 29, organized by Crescent Combe. Activities included “dress like a scientist” and “squishy circuits”.

Our Sci-Fly Speed Mentoring event was held Monday, July 16 in seminar 1 of the N/AH building. This event, akin to “speed dating” was a mentoring event for the more than 50 high school and undergraduate summer interns on our campus. AWIS extends a thank you to the faculty, postdocs, and students who contributed their time and expertise to serve as mentors. AWIS would also like to thank Dean Nelson for his support of this event by providing lunch for all mentees and mentors. It was a huge success!
