SFCDS Statement on Coronavirus/COVID-19 (11 March 2020)

Post date: Mar 11, 2020 10:27:06 PM

South Florida Contra Dance Society will host our regular dance at Michael's Boutique this Sunday the 15th. We are watching development of the coronavirus closely and feel comfortable having the dance this week. Because this is a potentially serious virus, we ask that anyone, dancer or musician, who is having cold symptoms to stay home. We also ask that everyone be vigilant about hand washing. Wash often!

COVID-19 Statement from CDSS

Updated 3/6/2020

It’s time for us to do what we do best: take care of each other.

With the emergence and spread of COVID-19 on our continent, we all need to make adjustments in our actions and expectations. Linked below are current recommendations for participants and organizers. The most important thing is for everyone to take care of each other, prepare for events being cancelled or postponed, and actively monitor WHO, CDC, Canadian Public Health, and State Health Department recommendations.

If your local schools are cancelling due to COVID-19, we recommend that participatory arts events be cancelled.

We encourage everyone—U.S. citizens and Canadian citizens alike—to read the article "Dance in the time of Corona."
